Esquire Straps. Never again ruin a strap with sweat.

A new and exciting innovation in active watch straps is here.

What Is It?

These straps shown below are done Panerai-style, and are all 24x24mm, and roughly 120x80mm. Of course, different lengths or widths for any brand of watch are happily accommodated.

The Problem

Rubber straps, straps with rubber backing, or metal bracelets are, in theory, great for sweaty activities, but the sweat pools between your arm and the watch, feeling disgusting after awhile.

Traditionally, leather straps are sweat sponges. The sweat will soak through from your arm to the top of the strap, staining it in no time.

The Solution

Here's where I have invented a strap that's designed to marry the best features of all the above. I embed a sweat-proof layer in the leather itself. This way when you sweat the leather will absorb the sweat, preventing it from pooling between your arm and the watch, but the sweat will not penetrate to the upper surface of the strap, so it won't get stained.

I make each strap by hand -- measuring and cutting the leather, embedding the sweat-proof layer, punching holes, and saddle stitching. There is not a single other person or any machine that touches the strap. I’m not a leather elf, though; I’m a lawyer in Washington, DC, and because the straps are totally hand made by me, each is slightly different and none is cosmetically perfect. They say that's part of the charm of a handmade product.

Because it's Patent Pending, this is the only game in town for sweat-proof watch straps. If you know of another watch strap maker that promises the same thing, email me and once I confirm it, I'll give you a discount on a strap.

Why Should I Buy an Esquire Strap?
  • If you're tired of ruining your leather watch straps by sweating through them, this strap is for you.
  • If you want a strap that's hand made, using high-quality leather that will age nicely, then this strap is for you.
  • If you want a strap that's saddle-stitched the old fashioned way (one piece of thread and two needles) so that it's very strong, then this strap is for you.
  • If you want a strap that won't lose it's sweat-proof qualities, then this strap is for you.
  • If you want a custom made strap, then email me and I'll make you one.
My current daily wear strap is a vintage saddlehorn leather on titanium/tobacco Panerai.

Does it Work???

Yes! I took one of my prototype straps on a three-week adventure through the Amazon Jungle and southern Caribbean, including an overnight hike through the jungle a couple hours outside of Manaus, Brazil. It was 90 degrees and 90% humidity. I was sweating profusely, but the strap stayed dry. Here are some pictures of that adventure:

About Me

I'm a lawyer in Washington, DC. I was hit by a car a couple months ago and broke my arm; I wasn't allowed to exercise so I came up with the idea for Esquire Straps while twiddling my thumbs. I've represented people you've heard of, as well as some you haven't.
